About
I’ve lived in Brighton since moving down from London in 1991 to become a student at the University of Sussex. And I never looked back! I love Brighton, it was an amazing city to study in, work in, and then become a parent in. It is vibrant, constantly evolving, and I find it has so much to offer parents and their children, whether you live here or are just visiting.
I decided to set up Child Friendly Brighton and Hove after spending hours trawling through various websites and magazines looking for things to do with my children (aged 4 and 18 months) in Brighton and Hove. Sometimes it was a case of forgetting what’s out there for a specific purpose (e.g. what to do on a rainy day) and other times I was just looking for a little inspiration for something different to do after getting fed up with doing the same old thing. I also found it difficult to find up-to-date information about events and activities for children on a week by week basis.
So I decided to pull together all the different events and regular activities for babies, toddlers and children that I know are going on in our lovely city, and put it in one place, to save time for myself and others in a similar situation. I hope you find this website useful.
If you have found any classes or groups or activities for children which you would like to see included on this site, or you have been to a child friendly restaurant, cafe or pub not listed here, please contact me and I will add it to these pages. I also intend to add a comments / discussion board so that you can give feedback to other parents about your experiences.
Please note that whilst every effort has been made to ensure the listings are up to date, this site cannot be held responsible for inaccuracies in the listings, or for the quality of the venues / groups / classes themselves. Similarly, Child Friendly Brighton and Hove cannot be held responsible for any difficulties encountered through visiting any of the venues / groups / classes listed on this site. I have not visited all groups and venues, so I cannot guarantee that they live up to their name. If you have comments or feedback about these listings, please email me, fill out a feedback form, or post something on the discussion board.
