Brighton Science Festival 2012 Family Events.
On the 11th and 12th Feb our brilliant Family Fun Days kick-off the first weekend of Brighton Science Festival 2012. These hands-on workshops and demonstrations from universities, schools and professionals are designed for parents and children to share. Probably your only chance in Brighton this year to compete in an energy race, take on the science poetry slam, become a piece of human Lego, get your hands on scary bugs and sticky bogies, enjoy a Computer Science Magic Show, spot a cosmic ray and make your own clouds.
This year, for the first time, we will be running family events through out half term in central Brighton. How to be Magic (12th) is a science magic show promises to reveal how tricks are done, Chewy, Gummy, Physics Factory (18th) offers a chance to play with your food, Make It (19th) features the science of crafts including dinosaur origami from towels.
The Pocket Science Festival (14th) will be giving kids an opportunity to experiment and learn some baffling facts to impress their friends, What Can Possibly Go Wrong? (18th) will demonstrate how the 3 Little Pigs can build better houses. There’s Storytelling at the library (15th) featuring the beginning and the end of the world and Build Brighton will be running special workshops every weekend (11/12, 18/19 and 25/16).
Quantum Physics will be emerging from of Quabinet of Quantum Quriosity (19th) and Lucy Hawking will be visiting The Book Nook (25th) to talk about her new title George and the Big Bang.
