*NEWS* Royal Alex Opens South East’s First Dedicated Children’s A&E!

South East’s first stand-alone children’s A&E opens at Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton & Hove on 31st January 2012.

Children in Brighton & Hove who need emergency hospital treatment now have their own dedicated A&E within the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, the first stand-alone children’s emergency department in the South East. Launch of the Great Brighton Pizza Competition!

The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival has teamed up with Donatello to launch a competition to find an all-new Brighton inspired pizza for this summer!

Primary school children in Brighton and Hove are being invited to enter by drawing and annotating their idea, and the winning pizza will be announced at the Live Food Show on 7th April. The newly crowned Great Brighton Pizza will be on sale in Donatello from April – September, with a donation to Rockinghorse for every purchase! Read more…

BRIGHTON SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2012

Don’t miss the Brighton Science Festival 2012, with Family Fun Days launching 11-12 Feb and running throughout the Feb half term week! There will be hands on workshops and demonstrations designed for parents & children to share. Grand Hotel Mini Mile Launch!

The Grand Hotel Mini Mile Races take place on the morning of the Brighton Marathon on April 15^th 2012.  You will cover the last Mile of the marathon route along the seafront with huge crowds cheering you on!

The races are age related and are open to youngsters aged between 7 and 17 years.  The entry fee is £7.50, every entrant will receive a T-shirt and each finisher will be awarded with a medal and a Goody Bag.

Launch of the Brighton Half Marathon Youth Races – and T-Shirt Design Competition!

The Brighton Half Marathon and Youth Races takes place on 19th February 2012, so kids can enter and take part too. There is also a T-Shirt design competition, giving youngsters aged 8-16 years the chance to create a design for the Youth Race t-shirt for 2012 which will be worn by hundreds of Youth Race runners on race day.
