Details: Our motto is: Your art, our mess! Messy Melodies is an imaginative and fun music class followed by an exciting and messy art session – two wonderful classes rolled into one!
After enjoying the interactive music session featuring puppets, scarves, ribbons and a wide range of instruments, join in delightfully messy play with play dough, paint, sand, clay and much, much more…
At Messy Melodies, adults can muck in, have fun and be creative with their children without having to worry about cleaning up the mess! Each week we have a different theme that takes the children in all sorts of directions – from drawing and collage to sculpture and painting. There are lots of activities on the floor such as spaghetti, gloop and sand, table top activities such as paint ball rolling and model making, and huge cardboard structures for the children to experiment with and play in. The themes are usually linked to a wonderful book which we share at the end whilst the children eat their themed snack (for example, rice cake Owl Babies or fruit Hungry Caterpillars) and adults drink their tea and coffee.
Day/time: see details above in “venues”. Messy Melodies runs throughout the holidays too (not just term time)!
Cost: Classes cost £5 and siblings are half price. This price includes the music session, art materials, a snack for the children and a tea/coffee for adults. Your first session (regarded as a taster) is FREE.
Suitable age range: 6 months to 5 years.
