What’s on for a Spooky & Fun-filled Halloween in Brighton?
It might feel like the kids have only just gone back to school, but October Half Term is just around the corner!
And yes, the days might be getting shorter and there’s definitely a nip in the air, but Autumn is full of good things too – beautiful colours, falling leaves, hot chocolate with marshmallows, and of course, Halloween & Bonfire night!
So wrap up with a cup of something hot and have a look at all the great things going on and take your pick of the spooky and/or seasonal fun to keep your own little monsters occupied over the holiday – have fun!
Halloween Themed Days out from Sussex Attractions
Newhaven Fort will be opening its doors this October half term to brave souls wishing to take part in all manner of ghastly and gruesome activities, booking is essential though, so click the link for more details.
Drusillas Park has plenty of Halloween fun on offer to keep your little monsters entertained over the half term break.
Tulleys Farm boasts 6 family friendly Halloween attractions plus a host of other spooky fun to keep ghouls and goblins of all ages amused! (It’s mostly undercover too, so no need to worry about showers!)
Fishers Farm’s Halloween Happy Hauntings is aimed at 2-11 year olds and includes getting up close and personal with creepy cute critters and a daily spooky show amongst other tricks & treats
Sussex Wildlife Trust is offering a candlelit walk through the woods – watch out for ghosts and meet some real night owls!
Spooky Crafts & Other Fun
Let your little ones unleash their inner artist, Halloween style at some of these great activities:
As always, our libraries are offering up lots of half term fun – head to Westdene or Hangleton Library to make your own stained glass effect Halloween decorations, Patcham and Coldean Library for a range of free spooky craft activities, or Hollingbury Library have a creepy treasure hunt & lucky dip waiting!
At St Andrews Church Hall, there’s spooky crafts & stories for 1-8 year olds with drinks, Halloween biscuits, and fancy dress for the occasion is encouraged!
Whilst the kids are in their Halloween finest, why not head to The Book Nook for a ghost story or two – it’s all spooky all day!
Deck the kids (& yourself!) out in spooky finery and head to one of these wooo-nderful parties for lots of fun (and no mess to clear up afterwards!)

This FREE party has it all– spooky stories, games and goody bags for the little ghouls, and BBQ & mulled wine for the grownups!
