PRIMPOT’S – Pottery in the Park Workshops are weekend, half-day events suitable for children and adults involving an educational element. (Please contact Steve Quinn for Primpot’s latest Diary of Events – Primpot will shortly be providing their Springtime Events schedule- please request your copy. (See contact details).

Primitive Pottery Workshops provide a practical learning opportunity, offering the skills and techniques required to create a primitive style of earthenware pottery influenced by archaeological evidence of British Archaeology around the Neolithic to Early Saxon eras.

Pottery in the Park Workshops are suitable for complete newcomers and those wishing to develop existing skills, delivered at a relaxed pace in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Participants learn to prepare clay, construct pots and pattern them, before taking them home. Certificates will be awarded at the end. (Please note, pots cannot be fired on the day as they need to dry thoroughly first, please discuss firing options with the Workshop leader).

Our object is to learn the basic skills and develop those skills through practice and experimentation.

The day offers a wholly enjoyable and therapeutic experience!

The workshops are open to everybody from the age of 6 years. (Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times).

Location: Workshops are located at Nourish Community Farm in Stanmer Park, Brighton.

We will be working outdoors, seated on the ground, however benches are available. In the event of wet weather we work under cover.

Fees: Standard charges (Pot building £15.00), (Firing £20.00*) per place booked. (The fee must be paid in advance and is non returnable once provisional bookings are confirmed regardless of attendance). *concessions may be available for group firings, please ask.
