When I was given the opportunity to review a baby/child car seat from Bambino Direct, my husband and I took care to choose one which looked safe, secure and comfortable. After a great deal of researching we decided to go for the Kiddy Guardianfix Pro 2 – what particularly stood out was its numerous safety features and outstanding reputation and that it is an ISOFIX seat. And we were hugely attracted by the fact that it is adjustable from Group […]

Flathampton is a must see performance – innovative, imaginative, completely interactive, it took me and my 4 year old completely by surprise. We went to see the version for under 5s, and role-play ensued right from the start. On arrival at Brighton Dome, we were all given Bus passes, and asked to find our […]

Review of Bringing Down the Moon at The Warren, 4th-8th May 2013
Bringing Down The Moon is a charming tale set in the moonlit woodland populated with an array of little creatures, one of whom, Mole, hankers for the night’s full moon. Set in the little known venue of The Warren, tucked between the Odeon, Churchill Square and West Street, we queued for our tickets in a character-filled miniature farmyard/garden/glamping vista – which holds great promise for other performances.

Review of BABY LOVES DISCO: Tropical Beach Party at Audio / Above Audio, 6th & 27th May 2013
WOW….In all honesty I didn’t expect this to be anywhere near as good as it was! It was a truly brilliant afternoon which was exceptionally well organised for all the kids and the Mums and Dads. I went with my husband and our two children […]
We have got through our fair share of monitors over the years as we have 3 children. Our last baby monitor gave up the ghost after being lent to family members with newborns, so it was time to investigate new models on the market. In the end, I opted for the Philips Avent DECT Baby Monitor, which seemed to tick all the boxes in terms of what I was looking for […]
I have long been a fan of Philips sterilisers through having had 2 babies who I had to mix feed. Sterilisers are vital not only for keeping feeding bottles sterile (if you are bottle feeding), but for other equipment too, such as dummies and breast pumps. After my second child, we gave our steriliser away, so I was in need of […]
With it being my third pregnancy there hasn’t seemed much point buying new maternity clothes – I’ve got most left over from previous pregnancies and plenty shared & borrowed from friends. But I wanted to treat myself to one new item at least, and JoJo Maman Bébé has a lovely selection of maternity clothes. Browsing their […]
I’ve been getting organised for the impending arrival, and I’ve been hunting around for a decent change bag – while I’ve had good change bags in the past, I was looking for something with more compartments so that I could keep feeding paraphanelia separate from nappies, and so on! The Babymule change bag caught my eye because […]
Polly Dunbar, 12th May 2012 at the Sallis Benney Theatre
Reviewed by Poppy, aged 6
We went to see Polly Dunbar reading her books and sharing her drawings.
My favourite bits were when Polly Dunbar read AURTHER’S DREAM BOAT, her new book. She also read Penguin and Penguin bit my nose!
I asked Polly Dunbar what her favourite book was when she was a child and she said Mr Magnolia.
I would recommend this event children because it was really exciting and I learnt how Polly Dunbar […]
Red Jelly, “Create a Magical Train Journey”, at Hove Methodist Church, Portland Road, Hove.
Red Jelly’s reputation really preceded it when Monty, Blossom and I were offered the opportunity to review the magical train ride experience for Brighton fringe. I had heard such complimentary things about these classes and was keen for my two little legged ones to give them a try.
As a childcare practitioner myself I was really keen on their emphasis on letting the child lead. They create their […]
