Two award-winning local food businesses have joined with the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival team to host a festive afternoon tea on Saturday 14 December to support the Mayor’s Charities in the run up to Christmas.
The event – supported by Brighton’s Terre á Terre and Ditchling’s Ridgeview Wine Estate – will give exclusive access to the Mayor’s Parlour where dignitaries to the city are greeted. Profits from the events will be donated to the Mayor’s Charities including Rockinghorse, Age UK, Martlets Hospice, Off The Fence and The Argus Appeal.
“The festival organisation and our partners from the food and hospitality industries raise many thousands of pounds for local charities every year”, said festival director Nick Mosley.
“Its a pleasure to support the Mayor and her chosen charities not only during the festival period but also throughout the year.”
Terre á Terre on East Street in Brighton were a finalist in the best restaurant category of the national Observer Food Awards last week, whilst Ridgeview Wine Estate from Ditchling in East Sussex have been acclaimed as best sparkling wine in the world at leading industry award events on no less than three occasions.
The Grand Hotel will also be hosting a spa and lunch day on 23 January to support the Mayor’s Charities.
