Young Critics Review of Full House’s production of The Big Red Bath at Brighton Dome
Child Friendly Brighton & Hove invited “Young Critics” – children aged between 5 and 12 years to review children’s theatre shows at Brighton Dome this autumn.
Here is a review by Arden Lily Murphy-Viner, age 5¾:
The story was about when Ben and Bella got in the bath some of their things got alive, like their lion back scrubber and their giraffe shampoo bottle and the hippo was the bath mat. Duck was a rubber duckie. And there was a dog slipper. Their dog played with the toys. They ended up going with the bath into space and the flamingos took them back home. One was in an airplane driver’s hat! When they got back to normal when Ben and Bella got out of the bath, their dog wanted to play with all the animals again, but they were back to being toys. And then their dog found the other slipper and he thought then, what am I? Because he thought he was a slipper.
I liked it because some people actually were really good at pretending to be their animals. Like dog was rolling around and lion had a crown. And then duck had a beak on her hat and it sort of looked like it was a real one. Here’s some of the ones I liked best: flamingos, lion, and dog. I really liked duck, lion and dog’s disco. The song was made just for the play. After the play, people get to have a picture with dog in the big red bath. Or just on their own. I would like to ask them to do the play in my class.
