I have heard about Into The Trees for a couple of years now, but with one thing or another I have never been able to make it. This year however my diary was free and so I decided to make sure that I went. I know it is run by the same people who run Elderflower Fields, so I knew I would be in for a treat.
It is a weekend event but there is no camping so you have to go home at the end of the day, but with the way that it is laid out getting back to your car is not a problem as you are able to park right where all the action happens. For those of you familiar with Elderflower Fields this translates as, you park where you normally camp!! There is no walking for miles to get to everything and the site is just large enough to feel like you are in the woods but close enough together to not get lost! As we drove in I once again am reminded of what an incredible location Pippingford Park is, you can just feel yourself relax as you drive in.
When we arrived there was no queue and the whole process was very easy. There is an information tent where you get all the bits and bobs that you need and you can buy tokens for activities that you want to do that aren’t included in the price (most of which are).
I didn’t really sit down the entire time that I was there because the children just wanted to do everything!! Craft stuff, swings, climbing, leaf trails and the list goes on and on. We didn’t stop but more importantly we didn’t stop having fun! We all had a marvelous time and literally everyone who is there, staff and paying customers alike, is absolutely lovely. We played, created, swung, ate and finally got totally soaked – a typically perfect English day out!
Into The Tree’s has only been going for a couple of years and so it really wasn’t too busy this year and we were lucky enough to not to have to queue too much for anything, but I have a feeling that this wont last long and that the word will spread about this fabulous weekend in the woods. To be honest though, it is a fantastic location, the people are lovely and there is sooooo much to do that there is room for more people, infact the more the merrier. So watch out for it next year and save the date, because if you and your children love to hang out in the woods and have fun then this is just perfect. I’m excited already!
