There is going to be a serious outbreak of healthy activity as Run the World takes to the parks for the fourth year running this October.
Run the World is designed to get children out of the classroom and into the fresh air getting those legs and arms pumping.
The event is organised by Grounded Events, the team that brings the highly successful Brighton Marathon Weekend to the city each year.
The aim of the event is to add together all the kilometres covered and match them with a geographical distance.
In the first year the children ran from Brighton to Bamako, capital of Mali, a distance of 4,200km. This year they will be running from Hanoi to Sydney, all of 7,747km .
With a fantastic total of over 8,000 children competing from 46 primary schools from the Brighton and Hove and Worthing catchment areas, the target is under serious threat.
The event is sponsored by Southern Water and Brighton and Hove Public Health.
Run the World, which is free of charge, serves as a taster for the Mini Mile Races which take place the day before the Marathon and are open to all schoolchildren between the ages of seven and 17.

Day 2: Thursday 2nd October 2014 Hove Park, Hove
