Myminidisco was set up in 2010 by DJ/promoter and Finger Lickin’ records label boss Justin Rushmore. Since launching the family friendly ‘good times’ shows, the Brighton based collective have hosted more than 40 club events. Resident at Komedia the super sized ghetto blaster has also been featured at festivals including Camp Bestival, Wilderness, Love Supreme and the Brighton Fringe. Justin and his crew have even taken the party to the French Alps – truly international! The concept evolved from recognising an emerging generation of clubbers and festival goers – parents that wanted to share and enjoy good music with their little ones – cool music for cool kids.
“Generally the girls love to dance and the boys run around chasing balloons, the atmosphere is always fantastic and unlike some of the indoor soft play experiences it’s far from intense, its a party for everyone. We consistently get amazing feedback.”
Catering for kids up to about 8yrs, with the hardcore being around 4 or 5 years old, myminidisco also have a baby play area for those with little siblings, complimentary healthy snacks, FREE face painting, hula hoop shows and of course a bar for the more seasoned clubbers. Some of the most successful parties have been the ‘Stick It On’ events which invite the kids to jump on the ones n’ twos to spin their fave tunes. The annual Star Wars themed party at the Spiegeltent is an absolute smash too, scores of mini Darth Vaders, Stormtroopers and Princess Leah’s – just makes your heart melt. This year they have special guest DJ Russ Cuban, famously the DJ for the awesome Cuban Brothers. So if you want to have a chance to hang out with friends, dance with your kids and hear some great tunes all in a safe environment – then this is the perfect afternoon clubbing experience for you. The fact that all their shows sell out is testament to a winning formula. You can catch myminidisco on 17th april (Komedia for Stick It On) Bank holiday Monday 30th May (Spiegeltent Brighton Fringe Star Wars theme) and 2nd/3rd July (Love Supreme festival, Glynde)
